I imagine that the first thing you’re thinking about is the words hazardous waste in the title of this post. ⚠️
I can assure you this is not a story about plutonium, a flux capacitor, or anything that is super dramatic. Sorry if I already lost you.
Yesterday, I accidentally got my client, who is a first time homebuyer, a TV. 📺
It just so happens that I had a bunch of old paint to drop off at the hazardous waste location in Sandy. See, I told you it wasn’t going to be a really cool story about plutonium, or turtles that got exposed to nuclear waste and have learned ninja skills.
I was headed to the office after dropping off the old paint, and GPS showed me the fastest route to work. 🚗
In a random twist of fate, GPS took me down the street where my Buyer is under contract. I thought this would be a good time to stop and grab a photo of the house.

The house in question where I got busted!
Except, the owner/Seller was home and he saw me! 🫣
He was grabbing his mail when I said, “Hey, I’m Mike. I’m your Buyers agent. I just wanted to grab a photo of the house”. He was super cool and we got to talking for a while. It was a really good opportunity to ask him some questions that my Buyer had about the house after the inspection.
Then he says to me, “does your buyer want the tv in the living room? I’d be happy to leave it for him”.
And all of a sudden my Buyer got a free tv with purchase of his new home in a week or two. 🏠
Perhaps the universe meant to send me down that street, at that time, on that day so that I could run into the owner and have a chat with him.
Or, you know, I just got very lucky. 🍀
Either way, we’ll chalk it up to another win for this client!
