Homes for Sale in Emigration Canyon

Emigration Canyon has a hold on Utah history because it was the original route used by Mormon Pioneers entering the Salt Lake Valley in 1847. Brigham Young’s infamous words “This is the right place. Drive on” were said as he overlooked the canyon. These words have become immortalized in Utah’s history and is commemorated with This Is The Place Heritage Park located at the mouth of the canyon.

The main zoo for the Salt Lake City area, Hogle Zoo, is located at the mouth of Emigration Canyon and is part of Salt Lake City. Emigration Canyon incorporated in 1997 to become a township. The canyon is also one of the most accessible canyons for bicyclists with an average 5 percent grade and an elevation of 1,300 feet. Much of Emigration Canyon is protected within the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. It is rare to find properties for sale in this canyon and properties that are listed are pricey.
