Sitting at the base of the Wasatch Mountains, Sandy is a highly desirable area especially around the East Bench areas of Dimple Dell, Willowcreek, and Pepperwood. Downtown Sandy is being redeveloped into a resort-style city center with the addition of high rise multi family residential buildings and office towers. The area will be known as The Cairns that will see new multi-use trails, the redevelopment of the Shops at South Towne, and the new Hale Center Theater. Much of the project is already completed and will stretch to Rio Tinto Stadium, home of Major League Soccer team Real Salt Lake. The project will also encompass the Mountain America Credit Union Expo Center.
